Narcotics Crime Scene Investigations

Patrol officers and narcotics personnel will benefit from this course, which covers the basics of preserving the crime scene and collecting and documenting evidence through photographs and diagrams.

Students will have ample time to do practical exercises in latent fingerprint preservation and classification, an area often overlooked in narcotics cases. The course is especially useful to smaller departments who do not have a crime laboratory at their disposal.

You will learn how to deal with biker gangs from the points of view of the patrol officer and the investigative officer.

Combining our Street Gangs and Drugs and Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs courses, this presentation is designed for patrol officers and investigators who are exposed to either street gangs or biker gangs and their impact on communities. It focuses on the methods employed by both groups of individuals as they relate to narcotics distribution. The instruction will familiarize you with these subcultures and their relationship to the vast narcotics network they are involved in.

This course explains how to gain information from suspects by using kinesic interview techniques to scrutinize their verbal and nonverbal behavior. It features practical exercises specifically designed to sharpen your interviewing skills. Also covered are the most effective methods and timing for turning an interview into an interrogation.

Undercover Drug Enforcement

Five days

This course deals with all aspects of undercover narcotics operations, from introductions and buys to stings, reversals and storefronts. Each class takes a representative narcotics case through every stage of enforcement--debriefing informants, surveillance, delivery, and executing the search warrant-and shows how to monitor the risk factors each step of the way. The course is also designed to sharpen your conversational skills in an undercover capacity. Prerequisite: You should have a basic knowledge of drugs and drug operations before taking this course.
