Governor Bill Clinton
210 State Capitol
Little Rock, Arkansas, 72201

I am a registered voter, and also a member and or director of several national environmental organizations. Through research I have discovered that my home state of Kansas was economically devatted, and appealed to the Federal Government to reconsider its laws passed to make Hemp farming illegal in 1935: Kansas Wild Flowers., 1959., University of Kansas Press., Lawrence, Kansas.

I have been a fashion designer most of my life, and within the last couple of years have acquired addtiional formal education in the textiles industry. In my investigations, I have discovered that if Hemp were to be restored as an agricultural product its farm crop value as: protein, paper, fiber, fuel, and medicine, is $6,100. Per acre, per year. It is my opinion, that the United States government should reconsider its classifications of this beneficial herb, Hemp.

I, as millions of other Americans have been disgusted with President Bush ever since he classified Hemp as a dangerous drug, and proceeded to spend the monies of this country to pay police, federal, and state, the National Guard, and as recent as his State ofd the Union Address of 1992, reaffirmed he wanted our foreign troops to come home and march the lands of this country to eradicate Hemp. President Bush has done more in the last four years to destroy the Constitution of the United States, and the Bill of Rights, than any of the Presidents before him. This must stop.

To my knowledgd, the state of Arkansas, is one of the largest Hemp producing areas in the United States. My question is Governor Clinton, does this speak for a look the other way attitude in Arkansas, which is as it had been all over the United States, until President Bush.

The largest organization I am with, represents over 20,000,000 registered voters. We want the prohibition against Hemp to end. We have documented proof that Tohomas Jefferson, George Washingotn, Ben Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, were hemp farmers, for it was law, in order to own land, you must grow hemp. We also know that for over two hundred years, you could pay your Federal Income Tax with Hemp. What this proves is when our fore fathers signed the Declaration of Independence on Hemp paper, they had no intentions for Hemp to become illegal within the next 200 years.

Hemp should be legal in order to stimulate the economy for the small farmers, open up the opportunity to develop new machinery to more economically process the valuable fibers of this wonderful her . JOBS FOR ENGINEERS! JOBS FOR MACHINIST! JOBS FOR TOOL AND DIE MAKERS! JOBS FOR TRUCKERS! JOBS FOR PEOPLE IN TEXTILES! JOBS FOR PEOPLE IN ENERGY RESEARCH! JOBS FOR CHEMIST DEVELOPING NEW BUILDING MATERIALS. JOBS FOR RESEARCHERS SO PEOPLE OF THE WORLD CAN BEST BENEFIT FROM THE PROTEIN, AND MEDICINAL BENEFITS OF THIS SUPRESSED HERB.

The largest coalition of which I am a member wishes to know how every canidate in the 1992 election stands on the Hemp issue. We are looking for someone with the courage of leadership to take a stand against the prohibition on Hemp. Open up Hemp for Commerce3. Empty our prisons immediately of productive citizens who are imprisoned solely because of Hemp possession. This would save the government billions of dollars.

February 25, 26, 27, 1992, we are meeting in San Antonio, TX, to choose and commit to our canidate. I know this does not leave much time allowed for you to respond. I am hoping I can present your attitude at this convention. If time does not allow, I will still share your letter in our network.

While there are those who would consider a positive position on Hemp political suicide, they are wrong. Millions and millions of people will register to vote that have never before had a reason to do so.

Respecfully awaiting your reply.
