Statement by Debby Moore AKA Hemp Lady 2742 E. 2nd * Wichita, KS, 78214 * (316) 681-1743

As many of the citizens of Kansas are aware, I have been fighting for a change in the Marijuana laws for the following reasons: · Protein: Nutritionally Hemp is the most perfect plant on the planet. With Cannabis in your diet you would enjoy optimum health. · Paper: 1 acre of Hemp will produce the equivalent of 4.12 acres of threes. · Fuel: 1 acre of Hemp will produce 3, 000 gallons of fuel. · Abolishing present Hemp Laws would open thousands of obis for machinists, tool and die makers, engineers, chemists, textile workers, auto mechanics, auto part suppliers, farm equipment manufactures, and much more. · As a cash crop, Hemp will economically contribute $1,117,550,000,000. Annually to the United States economy. · Lack of financial accountability from the government regarding drug war costs. · Forcing our children into over crowded class rooms, depriving them of the high-tech equipment to learn the sills of the future upon · Destruction of Constitutional Rights: Seizure Laws. No Due Process Through the actions of the drug war, persons are being deprived of the constitutional rights to won property. Many people only see the actual “Victim”, but many more persons are affected. For instance the parent or loved one who mortgages his home, or empties his retirement account to help.

Recently, I was elected in my district on a Pro-Marijuana Platform, as a CPO representative from district 1.3. I received more votes than any other person in my district. That means the citizens, the voters of district 1.3 want change in the marijuana laws. I have already started the long presentation toward the City Council encouraging them to adopt more sane laws. (Such as a $25.00 ticket).

My trial begins May 14, 1993: 9:30 AM: Sedgwick County Courthouse: 7th floor: Judge Kennedy. My crime is that I was willfully going to Topeka Kansas and purchasing the tax stamps sold by the state to Buy, Sell, Transport, & Possess Marijuana. I had tax stamps for ten pounds of marijuana when I was arrested. I had been buying the Kansas Marijuana Drug Dealer Tax Stamps for well over a year.

Please read copy of motion presented by the state of Kansas to deprive me of my constitutional right to defend myself. It will cost taxpayers $4,360,0-00. Over the next forty years to keep me in jail.

All this for standing up for my rights to disagree with the Government when I believe the government to be so wrong.

Soon will be forgotten that they came into the Kansas Environmentalists for Commerce in Hemp; state education center, and removed from the shelves, 31 copies of The Emperor Wears No Clothes, and 4,000 laminated sheets of educational information, accumulated over the last twelve years to be used by persons writing reports on the truths of Cannabis Sativa L Hemp.
